The Opposition perspective, by Louis

Arsenal have had a very impressive start to the season and so have spurs, it’s a highly anticipated game meaning a lot to both sides due to the fact both teams sit right at the top of the table.

Arsenal will make the most of the home advantage and look to dominate from early on, however as seen against Manchester United, Arsenal are vulnerable on the counter attack and playing a Conte side, in which likes to play that sort of football, Arsenal will need to make adjustments. Arsenal will most likely play a bit deeper than they have been this season, with Saliba tracking runs in behind from the likes of Son, Richarlison and Kulusevski. Partey will most likely be given the task of monitoring Kane dropping deep however it won’t be easy.

Most of Arsenal’s success this season has come down to the performances of Granit Xhaka who has taken up a new role this season playing as an 8. The Swiss has been instrumental to that Arsenal midfield and it’s been him getting forward whilst putting in a shift defensively that has got arsenal fans on their feet this season.

Another player who has shone in the colours of Arsenal this season is the new man Gabriel Jesus. With an impressive 7 goal contributions this season, Spurs will have to be weary of the threat that he poses. Jesus likes to drop deep, pick up the ball and then drive past players, so Spurs will have to figure a way around that, in order to stop his teasing runs.

Bukayo Saka, who hasn’t had the best start to the season came on just after 60 minutes for England the other night, and was the man who completely flipped the momentum for England to help them get 3 goals back. He will be high on confidence after this cameo and look to kickstart his seaso, and what a game to do it in this would be.

It will obviously be an aggressive affair, as a win to either side would be absolutely massive to their confidence and a huge boost for the upcoming games. Despite the huge pressure, Arsenal will look to make a fast start and will continue to play out from the back.

Arsenal will most likely look to give Martinelli the ball as often as possible looking to get in behind Emerson and take on Romero. The Brazilian has made a huge impact to this Arsenal side this season and continues to put in big performances. Ben white, for me, up against Perisic doesn’t appeal despite his solid performances recently. I believe that Tomiyasu is the better match and would be able to cope better with the attacking threat that perisic poses. However, I think it would be harsh for Arteta to drop Ben White due to his brilliant start to this season. I think that despite everyone knowing what’s coming, Son and Kane’s linkup will be too much for the Arsenal defence to keep up with, and this will result in at least one lapse in concentration. It’s all about whether the lethal pair can take their chances. Saying this, I think chances will come plentiful for both sides and mistakes will be made under the pressure.

Overall, it will be an inthralling perspective, with both sides being massively up for it, and I'm sure the atmosphere around the Emirates will be electric.

Thanks to Louis for writing from an Arsenal fan's perspective, it is greatly appreciated. COYS!
